Franklin International Acquires Emulsion Adhesive Business from Hexion Inc.

Franklin International, a leading developer and manufacturer of Emulsion Polymers for Wood Assembly and Composites applications, agreed to acquire the Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) adhesive and Emulsion Polymer Isocyanate (EPI) adhesive business from Hexion Inc. Included in the transaction is Hexion’s manufacturing site in Portland, Oregon.

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers Adds Laminating 50 to Its Extensive Line of Wood Adhesives for Lamination Applications.

New Laminating 50 is a vinyl acetate copolymer adhesive designed to bond HPL to particleboard and fiberboard. It’s a versatile wood adhesive with high green and tensile strength that also can be applied via varied methods including  continuous heated-panel laminating systems, pinch roll and dead stack or limited lay-up time cold-press operations.



New FastStick Formulations from Franklin Adhesives & Polymers

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers is pleased to launch a new line of contact cement adhesives under our new FastStick brand name. With a total of three new FastStick products, there are now more options for the lamination of High Performance Laminate (HPL) and other decorative overlays to particle board and/or MDF core materials used to fabricate store fixtures, millwork, cabinets, work surfaces, decorative panels and related products.

It is easy to use, cures quickly, works well across a wide temperature range during and after production and offers excellent heat, water and solvent resistance.

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers’ new Advantage EP-950A is exceptionally resistant to water and heat and recently passed ASTM E119 wall burn testing, on top of ASTM D2559-12a testing. It is an easy-to-use, environmentally safe acrylic-based EPI that develops low foam during curing and can be used on finger jointers, cold or hot presses.



Company Advances PSA Technology With Two Next-Generation Products for Removable, Permanent Applications

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers took two core PSAs back to the lab and emerged with high-performance versions, renamed Covinax 424-39, for permanent applications, and Covinax 265-05, for semi-removable use.
